Michael Keith Murdered as Drug Deal Turns Violent
Sep 15, 2011 Madison, WI
Michael Keith was shot in the parking just after midnight at Camelot Apartments. Elizabeth Glasbrenner told police she had planned to rob Keith, whom she knew carried a large amount of money, and Deondrea Stevenson, and she asked several others to help her.

Zachary Mays pointed his gun at the two and told them not to move believing they may be armed. One of them moved, possibly reaching for a cellphone and Mays fired the first shot from a handgun, Anthony Williams then fired the shotgun he was carrying. "Once that shotgun went off, Mays went into panic mode and just started firing."

Keith died the next day at the UW Hospital. Mays would get a 25-year prison sentence and 25 years of extended supervision beyond that. Mays pleaded no contest to second-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide for wounding Deondrea Stevenson who had a bullet fragment enter his chin and lodge in his spine.
