North Hall – The University's first building
Rumors An alum reported in On Wisconsin that while working as a security guard at North Hall at 2:45 a.m. one Sunday in 1983, he saw a heavy fire door on the second floor open of its own accord. No one was there but he said he felt a “certainty that there was something in the hall with me that I could not see but I could sense” He also experienced a sudden drop in temperature.

Others have reported seeing a well-dressed man walking the halls alone or standing next to a custodian.

Possible Connection A political science professor died in 1956 of a heart attack while working late in his fourth-floor office.
