Badger Cab Driver Shot & Killed

April 3, 1992 Madison, WI

A Badger Cab driver was found shot to death in his cab on the 6100 block of Raymond Rd. He had been shot once in the back of the head from inside the cab. The cab was discovered by officers on routine patrol, who thought there had been an accident because the cab was found in the median, up against a tree. This was the first ever cab driver murdered on the job in Madison.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy who confessed to the shooting, but said it was an accident.

Engelke was burried at Roselawn Memorial Park.
