Falling Oven Crushes, Kills Two Firemen Fighting Blaze

Judson Holocomb and Adolph Habich were crushed to death in the basement of the bakery shop, where the fire started. A heavy oven crashed through the floor of the shop pinning them beneath its weight.

The two were the first Madison firefighters to die in the line of duty.
