800 University Ave. Built 1970 (Harry Weese), Addition 2008-09
Houses the university’s collection of paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture and decorative
arts dating from 2300 B.C. to the present.
To commemorate a 2005 gift from alumni Simona and Jerome A. Chazen, the name of the museum
was changed to the Chazen Museum of Art. The gift funded a 60,000-square-foot building, to be
located east of the original facility.
The original building retains its dedication and still is called the
Conrad A. Elvehjem Building.
